• In his sincere and timely talk “The Environment of Our Home”, President Gordon B. Hinckley gives sage advice to parents in these latter-days and speaks out on morality in a world that treats the topic with increasing disdain. “There is no discipline in all the world,” says President Hinckley, “like the discipline of love. It has a magic all its own. “Such loving words from a prophet, seer, and revelator make up sound and divine counsel for parents in this age of moral decay.

His remarkable talk is the first of many in an equally profound book of the need for members of the Church to stand up for what is right and be true to their covenants with each other and with the Lord.

Speaking Out on Moral Issues is a compelling compilation of talks from the prophets and apostles of our day on the broader meaning of morality—“conformity to ideals of right human conduct,” as the dictionary definition states.

Fifteen modern Church leaders speak on the moral issues of our day, the “last days” foretold by the scriptures, when wickedness would crescendo throughout the earth. United as always, the Brethren issue a voice of encouragement and warning. They warn us not to partake of the brief, illusory “delights” that the “great and spacious building” offers: and they invite and encourage us to seek the long-term joys that righteousness brings.
