President Gordon B. Hinckley has said: “Even though some of you may be fully occupied with families and have little time for other things at this stage of your lives, you can enlarge you minds and broaden your understanding through the reading of good books. . . . You may think you are too busy. Ten or fifteen minutes a day with the scriptures, and particularly with the Book of Mormon, can give you marvelous understanding of the power of the Almighty for the blessing of His children.” Likewise, the prophet has counseled members of the Church to read the Book of Mormon together as families. The Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint Families, like its predecessor The New Testament for Latter-day Saint Families, is a valuable tool for parents and children who wish to follow this counsel. This beautifully bound book contains the full text of the Book of Mormon in large type and an easy-to-read design. In the footnotes of this indispensable volume, hard-to-understand words are defined in simple terms, important concepts are explained and developed, and questions to ponder and discuss are asked of young readers. Beautiful, full-color illustrations and paintings — some of which have never been in print before — by Clark Kelley Price, Robert Barrett, Scott Snow, Del Parson, Garry Kapp, Ted Henninger, and Tom Lovell accent the text. The Book of Mormon for Latter-day Saint Families is a keepsake that all families will cherish. And by reading this book of scripture together, every family will be blessed and drawn closer to the Lord Jesus Christ.
